WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Why are we called Sisters of Virtue? We selected the term "Sister" because of the family connotation. A Sister is defined as a female who has one or both parents in common with another (Merriam Webster). The Father is the common parent of those of us that have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

The term "Sister" was also selected because of our desire to foster inter-generational relationships. A Sister can be a female of any age. We firmly believe that each of us can learn from the other, regardless of age.

Virtue is defined as moral excellence; strength or courage; a commendable quality or trait; and an ability to achieve or bring about a particular result (Merriam Webster). These are traits that each of us as Women of God should seek to possess.

Proverbs 31:10 speaks of a Virtuous Woman. This scripture presents a standard of Godly wisdom for Women (not just Wives). We also see that this Virtuous Woman possessed strength, wealth, ability, and was dependable. She was not contentious (quarrelsome).  Are you a Sister of Virtue?

PURPOSE
To foster inter-generational relationships among Sisters empowering them to model the truths of God’s Word. “You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine…Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:1, 3-5 NIV

PURSUIT: To engage in activities that minister to the needs of Sisters and result in the furtherance of the kingdom of God.
